With the support of IRENA, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia undertook the Indonesia Energy Transition Outlook (IETO).

The workshop focused on discussing the status of REmap and its future focus.

A high-level platform for the launch of IRENA's Renewable Energy Outlook for Egypt. Building on global developments in renewable energy, the event brought together key decision makers and leaders from governments, industry, financial institutions and other key stakeholders in the Arab world, to exchange information on the latest renewable energy developments in the region and to discuss a way forward.

The ninth session of the Assembly of IRENA took place from 11-13 January 2019 at the St. Regis Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The Assembly is the Agency’s supreme decision-making body.

This virtual event served as a platform to highlight the outcomes of the Renewable Energy Roadmap for Central America study, discuss how these results can help countries identify challenges faced by an accelerated adoption of renewable technologies, plus insights on how an increased electricity supply can build towards the electrification of end-use sectors.

The Workshop brought together energy stakeholders to discuss challenges and opportunities for the development of renewables in Malaysia.

IRENA launched and presented the results of its report on "Renewable Energy Prospects in the European Union". The launched was followed by a discussion on the associated policy recommendations in the report, and discussed their implications for EU's future energy policy.

With a view to supporting the efforts of the countries of Latin America in undertaking the transformation of their energy sector, IRENA and the Ministry of Environment and Energy of Costa Rica co-organised a regional workshop to exchange lessons learned and best practices in the development and implementation of decarbonisation strategies driven by renewable energy, energy efficiency and electrification.
