G20 Renewable Energy Toolkit in-focus: Costing, Grids and REmap

Discussion of energy transition options continued with a workshop on the margins of the G20’s second energy sustainability working group, ESWG2. The full-day workshop aimed to review the recently adopted G20 Toolkit for Renewable Energy deployment ahead of a meeting of G20 energy ministers, scheduled to take place at the end 2016. IRENA’s costing, grid-integration and REmap programmes represent three of the five options provided in the toolkit, which the agency developed at the request of the G20’s first energy sustainability working group, ESWG1.
