The virtual event featured the official launch of the Renewables Readiness Assessment (RRA) Jordan. The event served as a platform to highlight a number of important topics relevant to renewable energy development in Jordan amongst government officials, partners and other stakeholders to promote the implementation of the recommendations made in the RRA report.

The third session of the IRENA Policy Talks webinar series presented key findings from IRENA, IEA and REN21's joint report 'Renewable Energy Policies in a Time of Transition: Heating and Cooling'.

The event served as a platform to address important topics relevant to the renewable energy development and deployment in Belarus amongst government officials and the involved stakeholders and partners. The session built on the insights from IRENA’s analysis, including the key challenges and opportunities for the renewable energy sector and the recommended way forward to harness the potential of renewable energy resources.

This webinar, jointly organised by IRENA and CEPRI, marked the release of the Chinese translation of the IRENA publication "Grid Codes for Renewable Powered Systems".

The main findings and recommendations of the report, developed by the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of IRENA and UNDP, were shared with the participants.

The IRENA Coalition for Action launched a white paper "Sector coupling: a key concept for accelerating the energy transition".

This side-event at the Global SDG 7 Conference in Bangkok, marked the regional launch of IRENA's Southeast Asia Market Analysis, and presented its findings. A panel discussed measures to scale renewable energy deployment to meet national and regional goals, and targets associated with SDG 7.

This webinar featured the launch of the platform and demonstrates how the tool has been utilised by homeowners, investors and project developers to assess the rooftop solar PV potential in areas such as Zhangjiakou, China; Castries, St Lucia; and Victoria, Seychelles; and Kasese, Uganda.

The webinar demonstrated the newly enhanced platform functions - how users search for data, overlay information, download selected datasets for offline use, and derive key information for sustainable energy policy and decision-making.

The report analyses the current renewable energy finance and policy landscape in the Republic of North Macedonia, identifies specific barriers and associated risks which can hold back private-sector investment in renewable energy, and provides recommendations on policy frameworks and financial de-risking instruments to scale up renewable energy investments.

Launch of IRENA report Renewable energy prospects for Central and South Eastern Europe Energy Connectivity Initiative (CESEC)

The Kingdom of Eswatini’s government and IRENA held a festive launch event for the national Eswatini Energy Masterplan 2034 that was developed as result of the joint Energy Planning Capacity-Building Programme.

IRENA jointly with the Department of Renewable Energy of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Bhutan Government, launched the Renewable Readiness Assessment (RRA) for the Kingdom of Bhutan.

The event brought together renewable energy stakeholders in the Republic of Moldova, for the launch of the RRA report and discussion on potential follow-up activities building on the recommendations of the report.

IRENA’s new edition of Renewable Energy and Jobs – Annual Review, the seventh report in the series, analyses the status of renewable energy employment in 2019 around the world. The report continues to refine and improve data and underlying methodologies compared to previous editions.
