The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) hosted virtual meeting of the Collaborative Framework on Just and Inclusive Energy Transitions on 3 July 2025 to explore financing strategies and approaches for just energy transitions, particularly in developing countries.

The meeting will explore how countries are defining and planning for high share renewable energy targets, and how the ambitions translate into specific system design and operational challenges.

The virtual meeting provided a platform for a knowledge exchange on practical tools, policy instruments and governance arrangements that can inform government efforts on planning and policy design for just energy transitions.

During the meeting, the IRENA Secretariat will provide an update on the progress of its two main project facilitation initiatives: the Climate Investment Platform (CIP) and the Energy Transition Accelerator Financing (ETAF) Platform.
