The first APRA Investment Forum (IF) is being organised to help create and implement a pipeline of projects in support of APRA objectives.

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), in cooperation with the East Africa Centre of Excellence for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (EACREEE) will provide a three-day training on off-grid renewable energy to improve the availability of reliable information on renewable energy in the East Africa region.

The workshop contributed in enhancing the capacities of local stakeholders in SIDS in structuring renewable energy project financing deals, and eventually increase the number of projects that are financed in SIDS.

The event strived for a global and balanced geographical representation of youth and senior experts, and highly encouraged participation from all countries.

Commercial Treatment of Firm Capacity and its use for Contracting Renewable Generation Projects via PPAs in Central America-Stakeholder Consultation Workshop.

The workshop brought together large number of relevant stakeholders to discuss challenges and opportunities for the development of renewables and energy transition in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Energy Transition Accelerator Financing (ETAF) Platform is a new initiative hosted by IRENA that aims to mobilise approximately USD 1 billion capital resources to support the energy transition by 2030.

The event aimed to showcase the ETAF Platform and discuss the current environment for the financing renewable technologies in the region from the perspectives of project proponents, government representatives, Multilateral Development Banks, and other climate finance platform initiatives focused on emerging markets and the LAC region.

IRENA, in collaboration with EACREEE, and SACREEE, has organised a two day capacity building workshop to share IRENA’s framework and insights regarding renewable energy auctions, and considerations, best practices, lessons learnt and specific case studies, with a focus on the Sub-Saharan Africa context.

The workshop included a combination of informative presentations, case study analyses, interactive exercises and also provided participants the opportunity to participate in interactive discussions with the audience.

With the support of IRENA, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia undertook the Indonesia Energy Transition Outlook (IETO).

The event brought together national and sub-regional stakeholders from across Africa to reflect and agree on the role of the energy transition in Africa's response to the current crisis and beyond, in order to achieve sustainable development and climate objectives.

IRENA in collaboration with UK COP26 Presidency, has organized a series of Regional Expert Meetings on Climate Change, Enhanced NDCs’ and Renewable Energy Deployment.

With the support of IRENA, the Republic of Burkina Faso through the Ministry of Mines, Quarries and Energy undertook a Renewable Readiness Assessment (RRA).

The objective of this workshop was to present and discuss the recommendations identified throughout the RRA process, and validate them with national and regional energy stakeholders, aiming for them to capture in a holistic manner the different aspects hindering the wide deployment of renewable energy in Paraguay.

This virtual event aimed to encourage all governments of the region towards more ambitious climate action driven by energy transition.

With the support of IRENA, the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus undertook a Renewable Readiness Assessment (RRA) for Belarus.

IRENA and the High-level Climate Champions hosted this event to support the accelerated mobilisation of investments and finance for energy transitions in SIDS for improved livelihoods and poverty eradication.

In the framework of country-level support for revisions of NDCs under the CAEP delivered by the NDC partnership, IRENA supports the government of Niger through a targeted capacity building program on long-term energy planning.

This Expert Consultation Workshop was jointly organised by the Vice Ministry of Mines and Energy of Paraguay and IRENA on 2 and 3 February 2021. The Workshop brought together renewable energy stakeholders to discuss challenges and opportunities for the development of renewables in the country.
