This workshop gathered experts and public and private stakeholders from the ocean energy field to discuss the latest progress and identify the most relevant opportunities for scaling-up ocean energy technologies deployment with a special emphasis on Small Island Developing States.

This high-level event hosted by United Nations Group of Friends of Sustainable Energy (Norway, Denmark, Ethiopia and Pakistan) and supported by SDG 7 custodians agencies, will present findings of the report as well as of the Policy Briefs by the SDG 7 Technical Advisory Group. 

Representatives from 38 countries and the European Union across IRENA’s global membership gathered to exchange views on the geopolitical implications of the energy transformation and the future of IRENA’s related work.

IRENA Youth Talk of the “Energy Transition Heroes” series, organised by IRENA and Enel Foundation, aims at setting the future agenda for youth engagement in the fight against climate change through a renewables-based energy transition.

In the framework of the “Energy Solutions for Cities of the Future” project, and under the umbrella of the Global Geothermal Alliance, IRENA  is organising three webinars to increase knowledge of local and national policy-makers and key stakeholders on options and existing tools to facilitate fuel switch to renewable energy in district heating and cooling networks in cities.  The webinars will be organised in partnership with the Aalborg University.

With the support of IRENA, Ministry of Energy and Industry undertook a Renewable Readiness Assessment (RRA) for the Kyrgyz Republic.
