Webinar: Strategic heating and cooling planning for the integration of low-temperature renewable energy sources in district energy networks: What key success factors?
In the framework of the “Energy Solutions for Cities of the Future” project, and under the umbrella of the Global Geothermal Alliance, IRENA is organising three webinars to increase knowledge of local and national policy-makers and key stakeholders on options and existing tools to facilitate fuel switch to renewable energy in district heating and cooling networks in cities.
The webinars are organised in partnership with the Aalborg University and build on the on-going work to develop a guidebook titled, 'Facilitating the Integration of Low-Temperature Renewable Energy Sources in District Heating and Cooling Networks', which will feature case-study presentations from different parts of the world.
The first webinar provided an introduction to renewable energy applications for district heating and a lecture on the key elements of strategic heating and cooling planning as a first step for the integration of low-temperature renewable energy sources in district energy networks.
