Training workshop: Small hydropower

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) conducted a technical training programme on small-scale hydropower plants in partnership with the Alternate Hydro Energy Centre (AHEC) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee. The week and a half of training provided a detailed overview aimed at building the capacities of junior engineers and potential small hydropower developers. The programme covered all the essential building blocks for plant development, along with the fundamentals of engineering, economics, financing, legal and policy issues related to the design, development and operation of small hydropower.
