The capacity building workshop was a national level, 2-days training that covered the theoretical aspect of climate investments and flows as well as the approaches and practices adopted to track and report these investments and financial flows.
Through the SIDS Lighthouses Initiative, IRENA, in collaboration with SPC, hosted a regional training that aims to strengthen the Pacific SIDS capacity to implement their NDCs and long-term low emission development strategies.
IRENA highlights the workings of the SIDS Lighthouses Initiative and Climate Investment Platform (CIP) to support SIDS in their energy transition through the implementation of NDCs.
IRENA and the High-level Climate Champions hosted this event to support the accelerated mobilisation of investments and finance for energy transitions in SIDS for improved livelihoods and poverty eradication.
The High-Level Dialogue organised by AOSIS and IRENA shared insights on the impact of the current crisis on energy in SIDS, highlighting country experiences, exploring the role of financial institutions and identifying prospects for renewable energy in the near and medium term.
Between 21 and 27 September 2019, IRENA held and participated in a series of events to boost climate action globally.
