This two-day webinar, targeting homeowners and youth, aimed to increase the capacity of Grenadian citizens to conduct a home energy assessment to better manage their energy consumption at home.

Jointly organised by IRENA and Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, the workshop supported the use of international best practice in long-term energy planning, and further the Agency’s efforts under the Astana Communique on Accelerating the Uptake of Renewables in Central Asia.

The joint webinar by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), TransnetBW GmbH  and the Costa Rican Electricity Institute, aimed at discussing innovative solutions for operating power systems with increasing shares of variable renewable electricity.

The series provides a platform to exchange knowledge, collect best practices and experiences from government energy planners in Latin America in the development and use of long-term energy scenarios to guide national energy plans in the clean energy transition.

The workshop was attended by SAPP member country representatives from power utilities, ministries responsible for energy, regulatory authorities and research institutes as well as the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat, SAPP Secretariat, Regional Electricity Regulators Association of southern Africa (RERA), as well the Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) of South Africa.

This workshop gathered experts and public and private stakeholders from the ocean energy field to discuss the latest progress and identify the most relevant opportunities for scaling-up ocean energy technologies deployment with a special emphasis on Small Island Developing States.
