Second Energy Sub-Technical Working Committee ESTWC meeting was held on the 30th of September in Papua New Guinea, Port Moresby at The Climate Change and Development Authority (CCDA). The following objectives were set: to present energy mitigation targets to the members; for members to agree on the energy mitigation actions in the enhanced NDC
This session discussed a set of holistic measures that can inform energy system planning, economic policy making and other policies necessary to maximise the benefits and ensure a just and inclusive energy transition at global, regional and national levels.
The Forum will provide for a High-Level discussion on the relation between science and raising ambition in the light of the ongoing processes and explore actions to accelerate a just, inclusive and systemic energy transition.
Together with a wide range of partners, IRENA ensured that through a series of high-level events, panel discussions and initiatives, that renewable energy was at the highest level on the global agenda of climate action.
Joint International Conference organized by the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Savings of Ukraine and co-hosted by IRENA, took place on 21 February 2019 in Kyiv. The event brought together representatives of the governmental authorities, parliament, international organizations, as well as financial and business sectors, to contribute to the ongoing efforts to create an auctions-based support scheme for renewable energy in Ukraine.
This event explored how governments can effectively design measures in the post-COVID era and how to ensure that these distinct policy fields form a coherent whole to bring about a just and inclusive transition for all.
