Conference "Auction Support Scheme in Ukraine for Renewable Energy Deployment"
Joint International Conference organized by the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Savings of Ukraine and co-hosted by IRENA, took place on 21 February 2019 in Kyiv. The event brought together representatives of the governmental authorities, parliament, international organizations, as well as financial and business sectors, to contribute to the ongoing efforts to create an auctions-based support scheme for renewable energy in Ukraine.
The conference was followed by a technical workshop on detailed aspects of the auction design, organized by IRENA as a continuation of the ongoing collaboration with the authorities of Ukraine. The first discussion with national experts took place on 31 October 2018, during a webinar conducted by IRENA. In addition, in March 2018, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Energy Community Secretariat, in collaboration with IRENA, published the Policy Guidelines on competitive selection and support for renewable energy to support the Contracting Parties of the Energy Community, including Ukraine.
