The meeting served as an opportunity to update the Membership on the agency’s latest work and findings on hydropower, as well on the status and outcomes of other relevant initiatives from other stakeholders.
Supported by IRENA, Luxembourg organised a Ministerial Conference on Electromobility. The Pentalateral conference 'Closing the loop between Energy and Transport', gathered for the first time key stakeholders from all sectors involved such as car manufacturers, electricity market players and e-mobility actors.
The ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF) is a major regional energy event that convenes policymakers, utilities, national energy planners, renewable energy developers, financiers, service providers, and development banks and agencies. At the forum, IRENA co-organised a workshop on project facilitation and business to business matchmaking event for developers, service providers and financiers.
As part of European Utility Week 2017, IRENA co-hosted a session on innovations for the power sector transformation that are emerging in Europe and changing the role of utilities.
