15th IRENA Assembly: Global Coalition for Energy Planning
Co-hosted two sessions during the 2025 IRENA Assembly to support the development of the Global Coalition for Energy Planning (GCEP). The first, an open meeting held on 11 January, introduced the GCEP’s proposed principles and explored how stronger links between energy planning and the finance community can accelerate national energy transitions. The second, a closed discussion on 13 January co-organized with Brazil’s Ministry of Energy and Mines, brought together key stakeholders to dive deeper into the Coalition’s focus areas, structure, and next steps ahead of its formal launch later in 2025. Together, these sessions laid important groundwork for shaping a collaborative global framework to strengthen national energy planning and drive investment in clean energy transitions, particularly in the Global South.
