Innovation Week 2023 will explore the latest innovations and expand shared knowledge on Renewable solutions to decarbonise end-use sectors.

GREF 2019  focused on pathways towards carbon-neutrality by 2050, analysing the current status of renewable energy policies and decarbonisation pathways from different perspectives and highlight the role of hydrogen and power-to-x pathways — focusing on improving the understanding of hydrogen ‘as a low-carbon technology option’ and analysing the existing barriers and solutions needed to accelerate its deployment. 

IRENA’s Innovation landscape report maps and categorises many examples of innovations and innovative solutions in development by pioneering companies and backed by far-sighted governments around the world. The report and its accompanying detailed online resources provides decision makers with a clear, easily navigable but comprehensive guide to the diversity of innovations in use, or in development, in countries across the globe.

IRENA co-organised two events at European Utility Week 2018, covering 'Managing A High Renewable System' and 'Electric Vehicles and Renewable Energy Powering the Transport Sector'.

Following the success of the previous two sessions of International Forum on Energy Transitions, the National Energy Administration of China (NEA), the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government of China once again cooperated to co-host the third International Forum on Energy Transitions, 18 – 19 October 2018 in Suzhou, China.

The Central Asia Regional Workshop on Policy Support Mechanisms was organized by IRENA as a capacity building activity for sharing experiences in setting more market-based renewable energy support schemes.

Two events of the Global Geothermal Alliance (GGA), took place in the framework of the Iceland Geothermal Conference.
