The Global Clean Energy Action Forum (GCEAF) was a joint convening of the 13th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM13) and 7th Mission Innovation Ministerial (MI-7).
The meeting kicked-off by the high-level launch of a special edition of the IRENA Annual Renewable Energy and Jobs review, developed in cooperation with the International Labour Organisation. Following the launch, IRENA Members discussed the proposed focus areas and next steps for the collaborative framework.

The event served as a platform to address several important topics relevant to renewable energy development in Paraguay amongst government officials and regional partners to promote the implementation of the RRA recommendations.
The official launch of the Renewable Readiness Assessment (RRA) Botswana served as a platform for government officials, partners, and other stakeholders to discuss the recommendations for improving renewable energy development in the country.
The event served as a platform to address important topics relevant to the renewable energy development and deployment in Belarus amongst government officials and the involved stakeholders and partners. The session built on the insights from IRENA’s analysis, including the key challenges and opportunities for the renewable energy sector and the recommended way forward to harness the potential of renewable energy resources.
This high-level event hosted by the Group of Friends of Sustainable Energy (Norway, Denmark, Ethiopia and Pakistan) and supported by SDG 7 custodians agencies, will present findings of the report as well as of the Policy Briefs by the SDG 7 Technical Advisory Group.
This webinar presented main findings of the new report, with a view toward the motivations and objectives that compel cities to act; the variety of drivers that either enable or constrain cities’ actions and thus influence what they can do; and the policy tools they can apply. Shaped by these factors, cities can play a multitude of roles.
The session aimed at providing policymakers and urban energy planners with an understanding of the policy options, technical solutions, and examples that can support the development of the renewable energy sector at a city-level.
The virtual launch featured the official publication of the RRA Albania. The event served as a platform to address important topics relevant to the renewable energy development and deployment in Albania amongst government officials and the involved stakeholders and partners.

The virtual event featured the official launch of the Renewables Readiness Assessment (RRA) Jordan. The event served as a platform to highlight a number of important topics relevant to renewable energy development in Jordan amongst government officials, partners and other stakeholders to promote the implementation of the recommendations made in the RRA report.
The fourth IRENA Policy Talk focused on citizen-led renewable energy projects – commonly referred to as “community energy” – and their potential to support an inclusive energy transition. Following a presentation on the findings of the IRENA Coalition for Action white paper Stimulating Investment in Community Energy, a panel discussion was held to discuss how policies can be designed to value citizen participation, current experiences in the implementation of financing instruments to support community energy, and examples of initiatives that have successfully mobilized financing to deploy renewable energy projects benefitting citizens and communities. IRENA’s new edition of Renewable Energy and Jobs – Annual Review, the seventh report in the series, analyses the status of renewable energy employment in 2019 around the world. The report continues to refine and improve data and underlying methodologies compared to previous editions.
