The Republic of Sierra Leone’s government and IRENA held a one-week training course on strategic long-term energy planning at the Ministry of Energy in Freetown that focused on developing the draft energy master plan document. 

Under the framework of Global Geothermal Alliance (GGA) – IRENA, the International Geothermal Association (IGA) and the World Bank co-organised a series of technical sessions with the Geological Surveys of the Caribbean Islands States, and other local stakeholders in the geothermal sector in the region.

IRENA in collaboration with the Municipal Government of Zhangjiakou city of Hebei Province has developed a strategy for advancing the transition of Zhangjiakou’s energy system towards a clean and low-carbon energy future.

The Republic of Sierra Leone’s government and IRENA held the second two-week training course on strategic long-term energy planning in Freetown that focused on finalising the SPLAT-SL model and energy planning scenarios.
