Kenya joins IRENA and becomes the 82nd Member

Five weeks before the second session of the Preparatory Commission will convene in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, countries continue to join IRENA and participate in the decision-making process regarding the future development of IRENA. On Friday, 22 May 2009, the Ambassador of Kenya in Germany, S.E. Mr. Harry Mutuma Kathurima, signed the Statute at the German Foreign Office.  Mr. Thomas Meister, Head of Division for International Energy Policy, was present for the Signing. Kenya has thereby become IRENA’s 82nd Signatory State.
