IRENA welcomes Signatory States No. 111-114 on 26 June 2009
The number of Signatories who will take part in the decision making process of the second Preparatory Commission on 29-30 June 2009 in Sharm El-Sheikh increased to 114 only three days before the conference. Today, the Chargé d´Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Germany, Mr. Adilbek Alzhanov, the Ambassador of the Republic of Panama to Germany, H.E. Dario Ernesto Chiru Ochoa, the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Germany, H.E. Ivan Korcok, and the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Germany, H.E. Michael Arthur, signed IRENA´s Statute. Mr. Thomas Meister, Head of Division for International Energy Policy at the German Federal Foreign Office, was present at the signings. More states are expected to join during the signing ceremony, scheduled for the morning of 29 June 2009.
