Definitions:
(Total) Annual consumption
Amount of electricity used per household per year.
Average annual consumption
Amount of electricity used per household per year.
Benchmark price
Price to be paid to a consumer per kilowatt-hour of electricity fed into the grid if there is any surplus power generated from the rooftop solar PV system. The default values are obtained from the local authorities in the city, but can be edited by users.
Capacity
Total peak electrical capacity of solar PV panels installed.
CO2 emission per kWh (kg)
Carbon dioxide emission savings from a kWh of rooftop solar PV generated compared to alternative sources.
CO2emissions per passenger car per year (kg)
Parameter used in estimating the equivalent of the carbon savings of a PV installation in terms of passenger vehicles taken off the street. Default value set to 4,600 kg, assuming an average gasoline vehicle has a fuel economy of about 35 kilometers per ~4 litters and drives 18,500 kilometers per year (EPA, 2019). It has been used in SolarCity as a simple indicator only.
CO2equivalent emission per kWh (kg)
Carbon dioxide equivalent emission saving from a kWh of rooftop solar PV generated compared to alternative sources.
CO2sequestrated per tree per year (kg)
Parameter used in estimating the equivalent of the carbon savings due to your installation in terms of the number of mature trees planted in tropical environments. An average tropical tree sequesters 22.67 kg of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere every year.
Down payment
The initial investment, beginning capital, or advance payment before other payments, deductions, or returning a profit.
Electricity price
Price to be paid by a consumer per kilowatt-hour of electricity consumed from the utility. The default values are obtained from the local authorities in the city. But they can be edited by the users.
Generation subsidies (government, provincial, municipal)
Direct accounting costs from the central government, provincial, and municipal authorities in implementing an incentive, such as a generation subsidy. The default values are obtained from the local authorities in the city. But they can be edited by the users.
Income Tax (Corporate)
Tax payable by cooperatives, limited liability companies, and trusts in the city. The default values are obtained from the local authorities in the city.
Installation subsidy
The subsidy that is given to building owners to reduce the required initial investment on the rooftop Solar PV system. The default value is assumed at zero. But it can be edited by the users.
Investment
Cost of the solar PV system, including the shipment and taxes and installation. It is obtained from local authorities in the city.
Loan
The sum of money that is borrowed by the people from the bank and is expected to be paid back with interest during a specific period.
Loan period
The period for the people to pay back the loan.
NOx emissions per kWh (kg)
NOx emission per kWh generated from the alternative source of energy compared to the rooftop solar PV system.
Number of buildings
Number of buildings being actively assessed. A promoter can assess multiple buildings at the same time.
Operation and Maintenance cost
All costs that are related to the daily running, including replacement of minor components.
PM 2.5 emissions per kWh (kg)
PM 2.5 emission per kWh generated from the alternative source of energy compared to the rooftop solar PV system.
Rental cost
Under the lease model, the private or public investor will pay the annual rental to the building owners and benefit from the returns from the solar system.
Self-consumption
The self-consumption is defined as the ratio of the energy use from on-site generation to the total energy generated.
Surface area (m2)
Area of the rooftop surface covered with solar PV panels.
