The Renewable Readiness Assessment Georgia: Expert Validation Workshop
The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), in partnership with the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, organised a Renewable Readiness Assessment (RRA) Expert Validation Workshop on July 17, 2024, in an online format. The workshop brought together a diverse group of stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities for renewable energy development in Georgia. Gathering a broad range of stakeholders active in the energy sector in Georgia, the key objective of the workshop was to create consensus over the short to medium term implementation recommendations and action plans to be included in the final Renewable Readiness Assessment report.
The RRA process, a country-specific assessment tool developed by IRENA, constitutes the backbone of the Agency’s engagement at the national level. Through a country-led multi-stakeholder process that involves a holistic assessment of key conditions for renewable energy deployment, the RRA offers concrete recommendations that can help countries overcome barriers and promote renewable energy investments.
Meeting participation was by invitation only.
