Technical workshop for RE Benefits Measuring the Economics Phase 2

IRENA’s quantitative assessment of renewable energy benefits has played a key role in conveying positive impacts of this transition to the policy makers and other stakeholders, particularly in terms of economic growth, welfare and jobs. As set out in the 2018-19 work programme, KPFC continued to work on the topic in two different phases. KPFC recently completed the first phase of the project, and presented the socio-economic benefits for the updated REmap results in its latest report Global energy transformation: A view to 2050 (launched at the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue, in April 2018). The second phase of the project was due to be completed by the next IRENA assembly, and this mission supported the kick-off of the second phase.
