2 June 2021 | 14:00 – 19:00 CESTIRENA’s Director General joined Ministers and senior officials from MI member countries and the other collaborative organisations to launch MI 2.0, which will be accompanied by the launch of MI Missions on hydrogen, power and shipping and the MI Platform.
3 June 2021 | 14:00 – 17:00 CESTIRENA’s Director General joined Ministers and senior officials from CEM member countries and observing organisations.
This lively 45-minute event, organised by IRENA, shares insights from a group of IRENA’s senior analysts with expertise in different sectors who discussed and debated perspectives on the pathways to reaching net-zero emissions by mid-century and reflect on the implications for currently planned and possible future Mission Innovation missions.
1 June 2021 | 13:05 – 14:10 CESTMinisters, senior officials, IRENA and other partner organisations launched a new CEM Initiative, facilitated by UNIDO, the event included a moderated roundtable discussion on the enablers for the market transformation to drive demand for low carbon products.
2 June 2021 | 10:00 – 11:30 CESTThe IRENA - Agora Energiewende joint event explored national perspectives on the most critical energy transition features and how governments use LTES to spur the discussion and articulate the pathways to achieve carbon neutrality. The panelists discussed finding common threads on the most critical features for the energy transition, which must be accounted for in national scenario planning, and the non-regret decisions available today for policymakers.
This public-facing event organised by the European Commission aims to catalyse new, strategic dialogue between on-the-ground innovators and policy makers. It brought to spotlight insights and success stories as well as barriers emerging from the on-the-ground experience of MI Champions.
4 June 2021 | 14:00 – 15:30 CESTIRENA joined the event hosted by the MI Secretariat and the European Commission that will profile the success of the first phase of MI by showcasing the achievements of the “MI Tracking Progress” workstream led by the MI Secretariat in tandem with MI member governments and partner organisations. The event also informed the second phase of MI, and in particular the Insights module, by gathering insights on how to strengthen the link between data/analyses and successful impacts of policy making.
IRENA joined the event organised by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India and Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, US DOE to explore innovation for sustainable aviation fuel.
IRENA joined the final event of the MI Innovation Challenge 1 (IC1) on Smart Grids organized by RSE SpA, Italy. This MI Innovation Challenge is winding down its activities and the event will showcase its main achievements and outcomes in view of their relevance to the incoming MI2.0.
