The impact of COVID on the energy transition: Accelerator or retardant?
The COVID-19 crisis has disrupted the global economy and shaken the fossil fuel system. Global governments have committed trillions to recovery and have created a space for policymakers and institutions to put in place a sustainable energy system. IRENA presented its latest analysis on COVID-19 and the energy transition and Carbon Tracker presented findings from their latest report Decline and Fall: the size and vulnerability of the fossil fuel system.
These presentations then moved into a moderated discussion with questions taken from the audience.
