The Renewables Readiness Assessment for Pakistan is a collaborative effort between Pakistan's Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) and IRENA. The report has been prepared in close consultation with various stakeholder, including, among others, transmission and distribution utilities, the power system regulator, provincial and federal government departments, power project developers, development partners, financial institutions, civil society and academia. The study identifies recommended actions to remove the barriers for Pakistan to scale up the use of renewable energy sources in addressing the persistent energy challenges.
During the event, AEDB and IRENA discussed opportunities to broaden the engagement with stakeholders, including governmental agencies, sub-national governmental authorities, industries, academic institutions, and development partners, in the potential follow-up initiatives building on the key findings and recommendations in the report.
