Training the System Operator of Panama on modelling VRE

This four-day specialised training for the planning engineers of Panama’s power system operator and transmission company focused on modelling variable renewable energy (VRE) and applying it to technical planning studies.

The training covered in depth the underlying concepts and parameters of VRE models for grid studies, and after the training, the analysts were better able to include the expected high shares of VRE in the technical planning analyses that they prepare every semester.

The training was part of the implementation of the Clean Energy Corridor of Central America initiative in Panama, in collaboration with Panama’s Secretary of Energy. It was jointly organised with the system operator and the Electric Transmission Company.

Kindly note that this event is by invitation only.
