IRENA is an inter-governmental organisation mandated by Member States worldwide to promote the widespread adoption and sustainable use of all forms of renewable energy. IRENA facilitates access to all relevant information, technical data, economic data and renewable energy resource data. IRENA shares experiences on best practices and lessons learned as well as regarding policy frameworks, capacity-building projects, available financial mechanisms and relevant technologies for renewable energy.
Under the supervision of the Chief of Communications, the Communications Assistant provides the administrative support necessary for the functioning of the Communications team, including the following tasks:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education/courses in communications or business administration would be an asset.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in communications support, executive management, and/or public information. Good knowledge of MS Office, with emphasis on Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook, is essential. Experience with intergovernmental processes and constituencies would be an asset. Knowledge of other related professional tools is also an advantage.
Language: Excellent command of both written and spoken English is required. Working knowledge of other UN languages is an asset – especially Arabic, will be an advantage.
