The second dialogue was focused on how to build a sustainable supply chain of renewable and low-carbon hydrogen from Canada to the EU, notably in relation to transportation and demand.

A first virtual workshop, organised by the PtX Hub in collaboration with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), took place on 28 April 2022.
Canada is set to become a Member of the agency after confirming its intention to begin the membership applications process.
The session provided an overview of IRENA, Canada’s membership to IRENA, and presented new tools available to Canadian companies and Trade Commissioners, to help them develop impactful renewable energy projects on the global stage.

The participation and ownership by citizens or members of a defined community in a renewable energy project creates local socio-economic value and helps foster more positive attitudes towards renewables.
IRENA's workshop brought together experts from the field of offshore energy and provided a platform for conversations, debates and new collaborations between academia, government and industry.
