Worldwide employment in renewable energy reached 13.7 million in 2022, according to a new report by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the International Labour Organization (ILO).

2023 saw the highest ever increase in renewable energy jobs, from 13.7 million in 2022 to 16.2 million, according to the newly released Renewable Energy and Jobs – Annual Review 2024 by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Volume 2 of IRENA’s World Energy Transitions Outlook 2023 shows that progressive policies are critical to boost the socio-economic benefits of the energy transition and spread them broadly across the world.
