Grid Integration workshop on Advanced Modelling for Renewables in PSS/E for Power System Studies as part of IRENA’s initiative for Clean Energy Corridor of Central America (CECCA)
In the framework of the project “Energy Solutions for Cities of the Future”, IRENA organised a capacity building event on the integration of low-temperature renewable energy sources into district energy systems targeting Southeast Europe.
The first regional workshop for REmap and FlexTool Central America harmonised awareness of the relevant existing work in the region, exchange the best practices of Central American countries, and shared details of IRENA's REmap and FlexTool analyses.
The focus of this online workshop was on countries who have pledged very high (above 70-80% to 100%) renewable power targets by mid-century, and that accepted to participate in the experience-sharing programme on innovative solutions.
Organised within the frameworks of IRENA’s Regional Initiative in South East Europe and co-hosted by the Energy Community Secretariat, the workshop enhanced local capacities at the technical, regulatory and operational level for the integration of variable renewable energy to the power systems.
This workshop brought together policy makers and leading energy system modelers from China and abroad to share their experience in using models and scenario analysis to address some of the key questions in the electric power sector.
In the framework of the OLADE Experts Meeting, IRENA and OLADE jointly organised a workshop focused on opportunities for accelerating the energy transformation in Latin America.
