During the opening of the IRENA 6th Assembly, the first intergovernmental meeting after the UN Climate Conference (COP21) in Paris, Director-General Adnan Z. Amin presented a new report about the activities of the organisation over the past two years.
IRENA 2014-2015: At a Glance summarises selected programmatic activities, highlights key renewable energy developments and provides an overview of IRENA’s global engagements in the course of 2014-2015.
This summary report takes stock of achievements in the course of 2014-2015 and provides an account of developments that have shaped IRENA’s activities. The two-year period included external developments that had a profound impact on the energy sector, renewables in particular, which, by extension, affected programme implementation. The dynamic nature of the renewable energy sector in the changing global landscape, coupled with internal developments, such as strategic discussions on the future of IRENA and the first external evaluation of its impact, have provided momentum for future.
