CNN interview: Opportunity for green energy deployment

The rapid rise of shale gas exploitation presents an opportunity to simultaneously boost renewables in the global energy mix, says IRENA Director-General Adnan Z Amin in an interview with CNN. “With shale gas, we see the possibility of a relatively lower carbon-emitting source that can begin to provide the kind of base-load that you need to integrate larger shares of renewables,” he told CNN’s emerging markets editor, John Defterios, on the programme Global Exchange.
