Tokyo conference themes sustainable societies

IRENA Director General Adnan Z Amin gave the keynote address at Building Sustainable Societies through Reconstruction - a GEA International Conference held in Tokyo on October 14-15. The conference, opened by Japan’s Prime Minister Mr. Yoshihiko Noda, H.I.H. the Crown Prince, Naruhito and GEA Chair Mr. Juro Saito, debated a wide variety of topics including: a new sustainable society for post-reconstruction Japan; creating communities for the elderly; technologies, systems and lifestyles for low-carbon communities; societies in harmony with nature; and highly-efficient recycling-oriented societies.
