Global Coalition for Energy Planning Pre-Energy Planning Summit Webinar
The Global Coalition for Energy Planning (GCEP) is a landmark initiative that emerged from Brazil's 2024 G20 presidency to address the critical investment gap in the clean energy transition through improved energy planning. The establishment of GCEP was formally endorsed during the G20 Energy Transitions Ministerial Meeting in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, and aims to work as an important tool for supporting investment mobilisation and project pipeline development.
The official launch of the Coalition will take place at the inaugural Energy Planning Summit in Rio de Janeiro on June 3-4, 2025. This pre-summit webinar serves as an important preparatory engagement to introduce the GCEP concept to key stakeholders, particularly from the finance community, who have expressed interest in understanding how the initiative will help catalyse investment for the clean energy transition.
The webinar aimed to build momentum for the Summit by presenting the principles, governance structure, and expected outcomes of GCEP, while also providing an opportunity for interested parties to ask questions and share feedback. This engagement helped ensure productive participation at the Summit itself, where the Coalition will be formally inaugurated with the signing of the Letter of Principles by founding members.
