Virtual Launch – Energy Transition Assessment (ETA) Report for Georgia
The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), in partnership with the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, organised a virtual launch of the Energy Transition Assessment (ETA) Report for Georgia on April 16, 2025. The event served as a platform to address important topics relevant to the renewable energy development in Georgia amongst government officials and a broad range of stakeholders and partners active in the energy sector in Georgia. The panel discussions built on the Energy Transition Report for Georgia and focused on the way forward for implementation of the report’s recommendations in the upcoming short to mid-term period in order to accelerate renewable energy deployment in the country.
The Energy Transition Assessment, a country-specific assessment tool developed by IRENA, constitutes the backbone of the Agency’s engagement at the national level. Through a country-led multi-stakeholder process that involves a holistic assessment of key conditions for significant uptake of renewable energy for energy transition and climate action, the ETA report offers concrete recommendations that can support countries overcome barriers and promote renewable energy investments.
