Workshop for Green Hydrogen in the Islamic Republic of IRAN
The webinar titled “Workshop for Green Hydrogen in the Islamic Republic of IRAN” will be organized by the Ministry of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in partnership with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). The webinar will be held on the 19th of November 2024 between 14:00 – 17:00 (Abu Dhabi, GMT+4).
IRENA analysis suggests that most end uses of energy can be electrified, using renewable electricity to facilitate the energy transition globally. However, there is a need for solutions to close the decarbonisation gap for applications where the direct use of renewable electricity or fuels is not a technically viable or cost-effective solution. Green hydrogen and its derivatives (ammonia, methanol, e-kerosene) can be key complements to renewable electrification. They will offer a solution to decarbonise some applications in heavy industry, shipping, aviation, and seasonal storage, among others. The development of a green hydrogen sector promises opportunities for green industrialisation, reducing carbon dioxide emissions while advancing job creation.
This workshop aims to provide an overview of green hydrogen value chains and related policy priorities, technology trends, and environmental considerations for a range of relevant stakeholders in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The webinar is by invitation only. The workshop will bring together a wide array of relevant stakeholders for hydrogen in the Islamic Republic of Iran, including government officials, energy regulators and planners, energy experts, and the private sector.
