Renewable Energy Readiness Workshop in Dakar, Senegal
IRENA, in collaboration with GIZ and the Ministry of Energy, Petroleum, and Mines, will host a workshop on December 12th, 2024, in Dakar, Senegal, bringing together energy sector stakeholders to discuss Senegal’s progress in renewable energy deployment and evaluate its current policy and regulatory framework to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy. The workshop will provide a platform to present IRENA’s key findings from its analysis of the country’s policies, gather valuable stakeholder input, and validate actionable policy recommendations to address barriers and support Senegal’s energy transition.
By leveraging local expertise and fostering collaboration, the event aims to produce refined, actionable recommendations to support Senegal’s renewable energy transition and broader socio-economic development goals. This workshop will be followed by a high-level event on December 16th, 2024, to close the first phase of the capacity-building programme on long-term energy planning, implemented by the Ministry of Energy, Petroleum, and Mines in partnership with IRENA and GIZ.
