Meeting of the Collaborative Framework on the Critical Materials for the Energy Transition

The second meeting of the Collaborative Framework on Critical Materials for the Energy Transition (CFCM) took place virtually on Thursday, 12 October 2023. The first meeting, which launched the Collaborative Framework, took place in March 2022. The launch was followed by meetings of three working groups (WG): WG I: Observatory in July 2022, WG II: De-risking Supply in June 2022 and WG III: ESG and Mining in September 2022.

The focus of the second meeting of the CFCM was to take stock of IRENA’s work on the topic of critical materials to date, outline future projects and engagements, and engage country representatives in discussions on areas where IRENA can support its Members. The meeting also covered organizational matters.
