Global Atlas for Renewable Energy version 4.1
The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) hosted an webinar on the launch of the Global Atlas for Renewable Energy 4.1 version on Monday, 16 October at 17:00 GST (GMT +4).
The IRENA Global Atlas is a free online resource-assessment tool for users to search and locate renewable energy opportunities. It provides the user with a better understanding of the renewable energy potential in a country or region.
The recent release of the Global Atlas enhances users’ experience with the new datasets and enhanced functionalities, including meteorological reanalysis data by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) and ECMWF (European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts), global agro-ecological zoning version 4 by FAO (the Food Agriculture Organisation), global pumped hydro energy storage by ANU (the Australian National University), and country-specific resource statistics and investment opportunities for project development by IRENA.
Apart from experts from IRENA, the webinar featured a panel of experts from other notable organisations and institutions. Audience participated in the launch event to gain insights into Global Atlas’ latest datasets, functionalities, and tools.
Live interpretation between English and French/Spanish/Portuguese was provided.
