Second Meeting of the Collaborative Framework on Project Facilitation

The first meeting of the Collaborative Framework on Project Facilitation to support on-the-ground Energy Transition took place on 19 May 2022. The meeting identified priority issues, objectives, collaboration modalities, and proposed the way forward for the Agency’s work on project facilitation and support. Building on these outcomes, the second meeting of the Collaborative Framework focused on the concept of the IRENA Investment Lab.

The IRENA Investment Lab is conceptualised as an initiative for presenting, discussing and verifying various business models for technological, operational and innovative renewable energy systems, such as blockchain renewable energy financing, PAYGO, and financial-hedging based Build-Own-Operate (BOO) schemes, fit for the individual economic, social, legal, and institutional circumstances for an IRENA Member, and eventually following a demand-driven approach.
