The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the Arab Youth Center (AYC) organised a joint IRENA Youth Talk under the overarching theme “Access to Finance for Youth-led Start-ups & Innovations in Renewable Energy and Climate Technology" as part of the Youth4Capacity initiative that took place during the upcoming SBs conference in Bonn.

The event focused on capacity building for young innovators and entrepreneurs, particularly in the renewable energy and climate technology sectors. It featured the IRENA NewGen Renewable Energy Accelerator Programme for Youth and the AYC Youth Pitches initiative on Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Both initiatives share a common goal of empowering young people to create innovative solutions and drive the transition towards a more sustainable energy future.

IRENA’s Accelerator Programme for Youth provides capacity building, mentorship, and resources to young entrepreneurs with innovative ideas for the renewable energy sector. The programme aims to foster a new generation of energy leaders and accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy future. By providing access to finance and other resources, the programme helps young entrepreneurs turn their ideas into successful businesses.

Similarly, the AYC’s Youth Pitches initiative on Entrepreneurship & Innovation targets young innovators and entrepreneurs in the Arab region, providing them with an opportunity to pitch their ideas and receive support to help turn their ideas into successful businesses. The programme provides young people with the skills and resources needed to bring their innovative ideas to life, and aims to empower young people to take an active role in shaping their future.

We invite all young innovators and entrepreneurs to join us at this exciting event and be part of the movement towards a sustainable future for all.

Through this event, IRENA and the Arab Youth Center aimed to highlight the importance of access to finance for young innovators and entrepreneurs in the renewable energy and climate technology sectors, and to provide them with access to the resources and support they need to succeed. The event also aimed to create a community of changemakers committed to driving innovation and accelerating the transition towards a more sustainable energy future.
