Expert Consultation Workshop RRA Paraguay

This Expert Consultation Workshop is jointly organised by the Vice Ministry of Mines and Energy of Paraguay and IRENA on 2 and 3 February 2021. The Workshop will bring together renewable energy stakeholders to discuss challenges and opportunities for the development of renewables in the country.  The outcomes of the discussions will provide substantive inputs for the preparations of the RRA report.

Key objectives of the meeting:

  • Validate the findings of the issues paper with respect to the status of renewable energy development and energy transition in Paraguay and key challenges hindering an accelerated deployment of variable renewable energies in the country;
  • Collect preliminary feedback from national stakeholders on possible priority actions to address the challenges;
  • Ensure continued engagement of the key national stakeholders in the implementation of the RRA process;
  • Engage with the government, development partners, IFIs, private sector, civil society and other relevant actors to coordinate efforts in future implementation of the RRA process.
