Modern, affordable, reliable and sustainable energy is critical for economic growth and the provision of access to modern energy contributes tremendously to improved health care, better education and opens up economic opportunities in both urban and rural areas in Africa. The 12th Africa Energy Indaba Conference seeked to explore the theme of Catalysing Investments & Business Opportunities for African Energy Sector.
Africa Energy Indaba provided a platform for energy stakeholders to discuss pertinent issues affecting the African energy sector. The conference brought together delegates, drawn from all continents, including government officials, energy equipment manufacturers, energy industry experts, project developers, financiers and energy users to discuss, debate and seek solutions to enable adequate energy generation across Africa. IRENA was present to share insights on accelerating clean energy development in Africa through deployment of Renewables. In addition of speaking roles during the plenary session and the CEO roundtable, the Agency in partnership with ACSD had a booth to showcase their respective initiatives in Africa.
