COVID-19 and renewables - impact on the energy system
COVID-19 has impacted the energy sector worldwide. Although the full impact on the energy sector is difficult to predict accurately, decreased energy demand, plummeting energy prices and a sharp decline in oil prices are already observed. The global energy transition may be also impacted. This joint webinar by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER) discussed the implications of COVID-19 on the transition to a sustainable energy future, shared insights on consequences faced by the renewable power sector, and the possible reactions of regulators.
This webinar was featured in the extended programme of the EU Sustainable Energy Week 2020.
