2nd Renewables Talk for IRENA Permanent Representatives
IRENA and the Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates co-hosted the second edition of the Renewables Talk for IRENA Permanent Representatives that provided an update of IRENA's activities and focus on the upcoming 11th Assembly, related meetings and the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW).
The IRENA Assembly has become a major global platform for inclusive and diverse discussions on all facets of the energy transition, with the participation and contribution of high-level energy decision-makers from over 180 States, multilateral organisations and private actors.
The 11th session of the Assembly will bring together Members, high-level government representatives, multilateral partners, global stakeholders and private actors to share insights and experiences on the importance of a green recovery towards a sustainable, resilient and climate-safe future. As in previous years, the IRENA Assembly will continue to hold synergies with the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW).
The second Renewables Talk presented a unique opportunity for IRENA’s Permanent Representatives to gain insight into the 11th session of the Assembly and related meetings and be appraised of opportunities to engage in topics of interest and relevance. The meeting also provided an overview of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) to assist Permanent Representatives in identifying further avenues for engagement during the week, from 18 to 21 January 2021.
