IRENA at EU Sustainable Energy Week 2019 in Brussels
This year’s EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) took place from 17 to 21 June 2019 in Brussels. As in previous years, IRENA presented and widely contributed to the 3-day policy conference. EUSEW is the biggest event dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe. Sessions focused on sustainable energy issues, debate new policy developments, best practices and sustainable energy ideas.
In addition to IRENA’s participation in the political opening, the Agency co-organised a series of side-events. These focused on gender equality in the energy sector, socio-economic benefits of the energy transformation, innovations in the power system and technology solutions in heating and cooling in the buildings sector.
