The Role of Low Carbon Fuels in Decarbonising Transport
A conference on The role of low carbon fuels in decarbonising transport: The emerging consensus from international initiatives took place in Brussels on 10-11 April 2018. The event was organized by IRENA in cooperation the Alternative Renewable Transport Fuels (ART Fuels) Forum, Biofuture Platform, below50, and the European Commission. It produced key messages for European policy makers about the vital role of sustainable biofuels. Among these are that massive scaleup of bioenergy is needed to help combat climate change, feedstocks are available to meet the bioenergy need sustainably, conversion technologies are also available to meet the need, policy support will be required to ensure investment in bioenergy scaleup, and an evidence-based approach is needed to ensure sustainability.
