Isolated Power Systems Connect 2017 – International technology Forum for System Operators and Owners

This event, co-organised with the Pacific Power Association, was composed of several segments: a two-day training for utility engineers from the Pacific Islands on planning and implementation of renewable energy and energy storage projects for small isolated systems, a networking day, and a two-day international conference where experts discussed the latest developments of power systems in small isolated areas. The event showcased a pragmatic approach to planning renewable projects and power system transformations, in line with the objectives of the SIDS Lighthouses Initiative. Participants had a unique opportunity to share their experience and interact with people that have successfully planned and implemented the transformation of small power systems in Rottnest Island, other isolated areas of Australia and North America.
