Mobilising Sustainable Bioenergy Supply Chains in Agriculture

IRENA co-organised this event with IEA Bioenergy and the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO).  The idea was to build consensus that bioenergy can make a major contribution to global and regional energy supplies while also helping to meet the world’s growing food needs. Sessions focused on sustainable biomass potential, strategies for jointly increasing food and fuel yields, and biogas from agricultural residues for rural development.
