Intersolar Europe 2016: EU PVSEC-IRENA events
Intersolar is the world’s leading trade exhibition for the solar industry and its partners. In 2016, it was linked to EU PVSEC, the world’s largest conference in the field of photovoltaics (PV), which uniquely combines scientific, technological, industrial and application-related issues from the perspective of research and development, industry and politics.
IRENA partnered with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development (BMZ) to highlight key research and promotional activities for solar PV in both on- and off-grid contexts, for islands and in other settings. Over the course of the week, IRENA led and participated in 10+ side events, launched three solar-focused publications and one new solar initiative.
The Solar Energy Standardisation Initiative, led by IRENA and the Terrawatt Initiative, aims to spur global solar development by standardising contracts to streamline the development and finance of solar projects. Find out more about the initiative and how it came to live from the IRENA article.
